Competition Details
NSW Maritime staged a competition to invite Sydney metropolitan primary school classes rather than individual students to create a name for the new vessel and to explain in a maximum of 200 words how their entry relates to the issue of protecting the marine environment from litter. The winning entry was ‘Mallagongan’ from Class 3/4J of Carlton South Public School.
This class won a 4 hour cruise on Sydney Harbour aboard the historic yacht Boomerang or the historic steam tug Waratah. NSW Maritime appreciates the support of the Sydney Heritage Fleet.
